Application and Admission Procedure


A
dmission is based upon academic excellence and is open to students with a 5 year university degree (in Italy laurea magistrale) from all programme-related fields. The degree must be obtained by the beginning of the academic year they want to apply for. Candidates may be citizens of countries other than those of the partner universities. The application procedure is identical in all SESS.EuroPhD partner universities. For general requirements and instructions, please consult http://www.europhd.org.
English proficiency at an academic level is assumed.

andidates who wish to be admitted to Sapienza Università di Roma for their SESS.EuroPhD studies will not only submit their application electronically through the website http://www.europhd.org but are also invited to participate in this university's official Bando di Concorso per l'Ammissione all'European Ph.D. to be published by the Settore Dottorato di Ricerca as well as on this webpage around the end of May. It will indicate the available number of places and specify how many out of these come with a regular three year scholarship. In addition, in proportion to the total number of allocated places, one or more extra-places, without scholarship, will be reserved for foreign citizens

The following application documents should be submitted:

  • Statement of purpose
  • Completed Application Form
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Copies of degrees and certificates
  • Certificates of language ability
  • Exposé of doctoral project
  • Statement of skills and experiences with quantitative and qualitative methods
  • Two letters of recommendation in sealed envelops
