Welcome to my home page!

Last update to this website was made on April 2006 at the time when I completed my PHD. While contact info are still valid please refer to my new website GISTAR for the last updates on my current Post-Doc research activities.

-----------------------------------------------------------

This webpage is dedicated to my Ph.D. activities at University of Rome "La Sapienza" in the Dept of Hydraulics and Transportation Systems (DITS - Dept #37) where I worked as a research and teaching assistant in 2002-2003 and in 2006. In 2004-2005, I joined the Rafael Bras Hydrology Research Group at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to work on the Distributed Hydrological Model tRIBS (Tin-based Real-time Integrated Basin Simulator).

Most of my research projects are related to hydrology, geomorphology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with particular interest in floods modelling.

I graduated at the University of Rome as Civil Hydraulic Engineer in 2001 under the supervision of Prof. Lucio Ubertini (IRPI-CNR, GNDCI) and Prof. Yuri Gorokhovich (Columbia University, Purchase College). My master's thesis was developed in collaboration with Columbia University (New York) and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYC-DEP) and focused on the developing and application of an experimental hydrologic rainfall-runoff model based on GIS to the New York Water Supply System (CAHRMA).

Research was developed in the office of the DEP Water Supply System (GIS group) in Valhalla (NY) during Fall 2000.
