ESA, the European Space Agency, is an International Organization with the purpose of promoting space research and new technologies and their applications in space. Space is a basic element for the security of the European Citizens, and it is also considered among Europe’s critical infrastructures in the EPCIP (European Programme for Critical Infrastructure Protection) directive. So, key infrastructures providing access to and from space must be protected.
During this seminar, Stefano Zatti, ESA Security Office Manager, will give an overview of the current ESA missions, analyze the threats they are subject to, the countermeasures that can be enacted for each special mission type, and the key decisions to be taken, thus performing a Risk Assessment for Space Missions.
