Lisa Maccari is currently at Visual Cognition Lab of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) as a Visiting Scholar with an Italian grant.
Her collaboration with Prof. Maria Casagrande began in 2006 when she asked her supervision for the Master thesis about Alexithymia in order to deal with issues of Health Psychology that she had studied in her internship and in her partecipation to PROCRE project in I clinica medica of Policlinico Umberto I in Rome. Her Master thesis verified the hypothesis of the existence of a deficit of interhemispheric transfer in alexihtymis subjects using emotional and neutral stimuli and the hypothesis of emotional inattention using two Change Blindness paradigms (Flicker and Gradual Change Paradigm). After her Master thesis, she resulted winner of the competition for the admission to XXIII Phd course"Cognitive Psychology, Psycophysiology and Personality" at “Sapienza” University of Rome di Roma. Her main interests of research are attentional and mnestic aspects of Change Blindness, the use of Flicker task as a visual search task in scholar Children with Attention Deficit Hypersactivity Disorder (ADHD) and the realthionship between emotions and sleep deprivation. She has a good knowledge in programming experiments using E-prime and Matlab, she partecipates to the Master Thesis Projects matched to her research interests and she collaborated with “E. Valentini” library in order to help students in bibliographic reserchs.
Education 2004 – Three-years degree in Science and Tecnique of General and Experimental Psychology at University of Florence: title of her Thesis “left handedness and theory of Motor Imagery” (supervisor: Prof. M.P. Viggiano) 2007 – Two-years degree in Diagnosis and rehabilitation of Cognitive Diseases at University of Rome “Sapienza”: title of thesis “Hemispheric pattern and emotional inattention in alexithymic subjects” (supervisor: M. Casagrande) 2006 – Internship in I clinica Medica of Policlinico Umberto I in Rome (supervisor: M. Casagrande). 2009 – Winner of a grant of “ Sapienza” University of Rome, she is currently Visiting Scholar at Vision Lab of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA).
