The aim of our team is to apply the non invasive technology of the thermal imaging to social and cognitive neuroscience. Thermal imaging has a great potential in understanding the physiological correlates of thoughts and emotions elicited during cognitive tasks and human interactions. Combining the thermal imaging technique with behavioural paradigms and with autonomic activity recordings our aim is to deepen the knowledge of some of the main themes of cognitive and social neuroscience such as: body state, empathy, decision making, interpersonal deception and the evaluation of fairness. We are also interested in the study of the physiological correlates of individual and social decision making during monetary games, with a particular emphasis on the modulation powered by social processes such as telling lies or accepting an unfair offer. |
